Things to do in the Twin Cities this February

It’s February and that means you’re probably sick of winter by now. If you’re like most Minnesotans you’ve run out of things to do in the Twin Cities and are spending your weekend driving the kids back and forth from hockey practice or dance lessons. February gets a bad rap but it shouldn’t. Especially in Minnesota. In Minnesota February is all about the home. The Parade of Homes(sm) and Remodelers Showcase begins, the Minneapolis Home and Garden Show is going on and there’s even a Women’s Expo taking place. All are great excuses to get out of the house and start planning your spring and summer home improvement projects. If you’d rather not start another home project but still want to do some improving then consider the Polar Plunge or the Valentine’s Day TC 5k.

Maple Grove Polar Plunge

The Polar Plunge isn’t for everyone, only a special group of people can muster the courage to jump through a hole in the ice and plunge into a frozen Minnesota lake, but, if you have what it takes the Maple Grove Polar Plunge is a great event and it benefits the Minnesota Special Olympics – a great cause if there was one. Valentine’s Day TC 5k

Get your heart pumping with the the oldest winter run in Minnesota! The Valentine’s Day TC 5k, is a fun and exciting race for those who are just starting to do marathons but it’s also fun for experienced runners. The Valentine’s Day TC 5k is great for couples, singles and anyone who wants to get moving. Bring the kids, they’ll have a great time. You can even bring your pet!

Minneapolis Home and Garden Show
When: February 25th – March 1st

Twin Cities Women’s Expo
